Case Study: University of Pennsylvania

The EEI has established partnership with the University of Pennsylvania, particularly with the Masters of Behavioral and Decision Sciences Program (MBDS) and Penn Center of Social Norms and Behavioral Dynamics (CSNBD). We have been working with Penn faculties and students to identify behavioral norms and design behavioral interventions to improve homeowners’ perceptions of energy efficiency program. The project explores various research topics to identify strategies for achieving energy efficiency and energy usage goals. Designing energy programs through behavioral analysis, and approaching actual contractors who communicate directly with homeowners, can lead to significant outcomes with behavioral interventions.
